Eskilstuna United League Status For 2023 Season Still Unclear

Written by Oluwaseun Oyediji

The sporting future of Swedish side, Eskilstuna United is still unclear because the team will not get an elite license for the 2023 season, the OBOS Damallsvenskan announced last Tuesday.

More Details

The reason for this is negative equity, which Eskilstuna had on August 31st of this year and would therefore not be eligible for the Damallsvenskan.

The team would therefore have to compete in the second-tier Elitettan in the coming season, but new players will be needed in the event of relegation, as all player contracts would expire in the event of relegation.

One of the players affected by the event is Super Falcons midfielder, Ngozi Okobi Okeoghene who now becomes a free agent.
