Eugénie Le Sommer Signs With Toluca Diablas After Legendary Spell At Lyon

Toluca Diablas have pulled off a major coup with the signing of French international Eugénie Le Sommer. The veteran forward joins the Liga MX Femenil side from Olympique Lyonnais, where she spent 15 illustrious years and became one of the most decorated players in women’s football.

During her time at OL, Le Sommer won 33 trophies, including an astonishing eight UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, and scored over 300 goals, cementing her place in the club’s and Europe’s football history.
Despite her club success, the 34-year-old was left out of France’s squad for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, a decision that raised eyebrows given her record of 94 goals in 200 appearances for Les Bleues.

“After 15 years at Olympique Lyonnais it’s time for me to say goodbye. A simple but emotionally charged word because this club is a big part of my life. I’ll never forget that phone call in 2010 from Jean-Michel Aulas. I had no idea then how much this adventure would affect me.”
She went on to thank her teammates, coaches, staff, and supporters, saying she grew not only as a player but as a woman during her time at the club:
