The Willy Sagnol’s led side were unlucky to have lost their opening game to Turkey a few days ago.

However, they got better on Saturday afternoon as a 1-1 draw with Czech Republic earned them their first ever point at the Euros.

Prior to kickoff, Czech were slight favourites over Georgia in the group F encounter.

It wasn’t to be though as Ivan Hasek’s side were made to hustle for a point after Georgia went into the lead late in the first half.

Metz striker Georges Mikataudze once again found the net, albeit from the spot, to make it two goals from as many games in his tournament bow.

Patrik Schick rose from his ruins as he notched home a rebound from close range to draw his side level, one minute before the hour mark.

Both teams were not to be separated as the game ended in a stalemate, leaving their qualification to the next round hanging by a thread with just a point apiece.

Meanwhile…

Portugal and Turkey will go head to head in the other group game later at night.

Both sides won their opening games against the other two teams in the group a few days ago.

Portugal were far from convincing in their slim 2-1 victory over Czech Republic while Turkey showed character in their 3-1 triumph over Georgia.

With qualification to the next round at stake, Roberto Martinez and Vicenzo Montella will hope for maximum points in this supposedly top of the table decider in group F.
