Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the ongoing discussions between Everton and Lyon for Fofana.
Everton is currently in negotiations to sign Malick Fofana, a winger from Lyon. Lyon is reportedly facing significant financial difficulties this summer, which might make them more inclined to sell.
However, the deal has hit a snag because Fofana is hoping to join a club that can offer him Champions League football, according to Fabrizio Romano.

This means Everton are now waiting for Fofana to make his final decision, as he might be holding out for offers from clubs in Europe’s top competition.
While awaiting Fofana’s choice, Everton’s director, Angus Kinnear, has reportedly explored other options, checking in on Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad and Assane Diao from Como as potential alternatives.
Everton’s main transfer priority this summer is to bolster their attacking lineup, and Fofana is considered an exciting prospect. But with the Belgian seemingly prioritizing Champions League aspirations, Everton is now actively pursuing other attacking players to strengthen their squad.
