Fabian Ruiz Last-Grasp Sends Napoli To The Top

It was another night of drama at the Stadio Olimpico with three goals scored in the last 25 minutes of the encounter after a goalless first half with Lazio having more opportunities.

The 2-1 win will not only give Napoli a consolation after their Europa league exit but also takes the visitors to the top of the league table.

After a dominating first half from Lazio, the hosts failed to make count of their time of the ball and this continued for the first quarter of the the second half as well. However, Napoli took the initiative courtesy a beautiful striker from Captain Insigne in the 62nd minute giving Napoli the a 1-0 lead.

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri praised the performance of his men but blamed the defeat on his naivety of the team. The coach also revealed how his squad is beginning to take in his football ideas.

“It was a good performance, we dominated the first half and our regret was only being at 0-0. That means we went behind, got back on track, but then were punished by a naïve error at the 93rd minute,” Sarri told DAZN.

“We went to triple up the marking on the wing, allowing them to counter and we were badly set out in defence.

On his football idea the coach says “The objective is to keep improving our performances, to do as well as possible and learn to read situations better so that we can transform those potential situations into results.”
