Favre Reneges on Palace Agreement

Crystal Palace were dealt a major blow on Thursday in their preparations ahead of the coming season. What they thought was a done deal has now hit the rocks

Lucien Favre had reportedly agreed a three-year deal to take over at the Selhurst park but took a reverse decision on Thursday night when he reportedly informed the club chiefs that he has decided to take a longer break from football.

The news comes as a huge blow to the Eagles going into the new season. Favre’s work permit according to sources in London had just arrived before the news broke to the club hierarchy.

Favre stated that his decision to renege on the agreement is wholly personal and not due to him engaging in talks with another club.

The Swiss will be on sabbatical for the forseeable future until he’s ready to return to football again.
