FIFA Ban Yeni Malatyaspor Over Unpaid Dues To Egypt’s Wadi Degla

World Footballing Governing Body, FIFA has banned Turkish outfit, Yeni Malatyaspor from transfers over unpaid dues to Wadi Degla for Karim Hafez transfer deal.

Hafez had initially joined Yeni Malatyaspor on a six-month loan deal from Wadi Degla in January of 2020 after getting released by Kasimpasa.

The 25-year-old impressed in his loan spell with Malatyaspor, providing great shows in the domestic league.

Karim’s performances with the club have earned him a permanent deal with Malatyaspor in August of the same year and have extended his stay in Turkey.

Since joining Malatyaspor, Karim has made 53 appearances, in which he made 11 assists.

Despite completing the move in 2020, Degla have sent an official complaint to FIFA claiming that the Turkish club have not paid the transfer fees.

FIFA decision was in Wadi Degla’s favor, after investigating the issue, Malatyaspor were handed transfer ban.

Egypt international keeper Mohamed El-Shennawy has been declared fit for the Cairo derby set to take place the Friday, November 5.

El-Shennawy played both of Egypt’s games against Libya in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. It was rumored that he was injured before the games but still played the full 90 minutes in Cairo.

He then started the second match, which took place in Benghazi, but was subbed-off in the 26th minute for Mohamed Abogabal after feeling some discomfort in his hamstring.

Al Ahly had revealed that El-Shennawy will need four to five weeks in order to fully recover from the injury, meaning he will miss the Cairo derby against Zamalek.

However, following the Bank Al Ahly game, Al Ahly had confirmed that El-Shennawy has recovered earlier than expected and that he is now fit for the derby.

“El-Shennawy was supposed to be present today against Bank Al Ahly, but the coaching staff preferred to rest him, but he is ready to participate against Zamalek,” Al Ahly’s director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz said.

Ali Lotfi had started Al Ahly’s opening two league games, in which he managed to keep two cleans and even produced a crucial late save against Bank Al Ahly on Sunday.
