Fiorentina Now Ahead Of Inter For Two Of Their Summer Transfer Targets
Written By Onyeka Daniel
Despite the exit of their coach, Vincenzo Italiano, Italian Serie A side, Fiorentina have managed to keep a large portion of their team intact for their new manager, Raffaele Palladino, but that could change in the next few days, after the exit of Nikolai Milenkovic to Nottingham Forest.
More Details
This is because there is a huge interest Argentine forward, Nico Gonzalez and according to reports, the club is eyeing a number of targets as replacement.

Accordingly, they’re progressing well in negotiations for both Venezia midfielder Tanner Tessmann and Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson, who is seen as a replacement for Gonzalez.
The Viola are working under a new coach and trying to strengthen the squad after coming so close to silverware in the last two years, reaching the Europa Conference League Final twice and the Coppa Italia Final once.
According to Sky Sport Italia, they are getting ever closer to the finish line for Venezia midfielder Tessmann, agreeing a fee worth €6m, but they’re not stopping there, hoping to get at one more player that has been linked with Inter Milan this summer.
They still need to figure out personal terms with the USMNT star, but have whittled down some of the details with his agents today. Tessmann had been on the verge of a move to Inter when that transfer fell apart at the last minute, largely due to the career path that was planned for him with a loan first.

According to the same source, they are favourites for Gudmundsson, who could be allowed to leave Genoa on loan with an obligation to buy for over €20m. The Tuscans had already made an approach for him in January, only to be rebuffed.
Juventus and Inter were also tracking the Iceland international. Gudmundsson is becoming a priority now because Juventus are stepping up their pursuit of Nico Gonzalez, seen as the alternative now that Borussia Dortmund are unwilling to part with Karim Adeyemi.
Perhaps, this will finally force the Nerazzurri to make their intentions fully known for Gudmundsson, as he’s been linked with a move to the Lombardy capital. For the reigning champions, they will first need to get rid of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa before they can consider moving for another player to strengthen their attack.

For Fiorentina, it will be hard to convince Genoa and Gudmundsson about a move, as they won’t be playing UCL football, even in the face of the fact that the Iceland international hasn’t ruled out the possibility of him staying with Genoa for the 2024-25 season.
