According to a recent report, Manchester City are reportedly looking to bring back Cole Palmer, who currently plays for their Premier League rivals, Chelsea.
More Details
Palmer, a product of City’s youth academy, departed the club in the summer of 2023 for approximately £45 million, seeking more consistent first-team opportunities.

Since his move, the 23-year-old has flourished at Chelsea, becoming a key player and earning both the PFA and Premier League Young Player of the Season awards for the 2023-24 season, having contributed an impressive 27 goals and 15 assists in 48 appearances.
Last season, Palmer was a key player for Chelsea, scoring 15 goals and setting up 12 assists in 46 games. His contributions helped Chelsea win the Conference League and secure a spot in the Champions League by finishing fourth in the Premier League.
Earlier this summer, Palmer continued his stellar performance by leading Chelsea to victory in the Club World Cup. He was instrumental in the final against Paris Saint-Germain, directly contributing to all three goals (scoring two and assisting one) in their dominant 3-0 win.
Despite Cole Palmer being a crucial player for Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea squad, with a contract extending until June 2033, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly determined to re-sign him.

Fichajes indicates that Guardiola has always admired Palmer’s talent and is prepared to go to great lengths to bring him back to the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City is reportedly willing to offer as much as $170 million (£126.1 million) for Palmer, which would break the British transfer record.
This proposed fee would surpass the £116 million (including add-ons) that Liverpool recently paid for Florian Wirtz. City believes Palmer can significantly impact their team, but acquiring him from Chelsea is expected to be difficult.
It’s highly improbable that Cole Palmer will leave Chelsea anytime soon, especially given his recent success and positive outlook on the club’s future under Maresca. While Manchester City might seem like a natural destination if he ever did depart, his current contentment at Stamford Bridge suggests he’s there to stay and continue his development.
