After the World Cup break this month, Los Rojiblancos have been preparing to make a comeback at home.
Following their participation in the 2022 World Cup, the majority of Diego Simeone’s team has already resumed training, with Griezmann being one of the final players to return to Madrid.
Following France’s journey to the final in Qatar, the 31-year-old decided against taking a lengthy rest and will re-join the team for training tomorrow.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Griezmann had a good tournament in the Middle East while representing the defending champions in a deeper role. However, he is eager to get back into domestic play.
According to the report, Simeone’s Argentinian World Cup winners will also make a comeback before the match with Elche, but they are not expected to start. Griezmann, however, is almost certain to play.

Yannick Carrasco, a Belgian international, is available for transfer in January, and Atletico Madrid is open to offers. In order to balance the team’s finances, Los Rojiblancos head coach Diego Simeone plans to unload players during the winter transfer window.
Simeone’s budget for 2023 has been impacted by a group stage Champions League exit, which has caused an estimated €30–40m revenue shortfall as they tumble out of Europe’s top competition.
Matheus Cunha, a Brazilian forward, has already signed a transfer agreement to join Premier League outfit Wolves, and Carrasco might follow suit if an appropriate offer is made.
