Fulham On The Verge Of Agreeing Deal To Sign Versatile Englishman From Arsenal

Written By Albert Echatah

According to multiple reports, Arsenal are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Fulham for the imminent sale of Emile Smith Rowe for a fee in the region of £35 million.

More Details

This month, Arsenal have previously rejected proposals from Fulham and Crystal Palace, but both teams were anticipated to come back with stronger offers.

Arsenal turned down Fulham’s previous offer of £30 million, but Palace was allegedly developing a new offer for the 23-year-old that would have cost £35 million plus add-ons.

Nevertheless, Fulham “have manoeuvred themselves into a position” to buy Smith Rowe, according to a late-night report from The Athletic, and they are currently nearing an agreement with Arsenal.

According to the report, Smith Rowe still needs to agree physical terms with Fulham before joining the London based club. Smith Rowe didn’t play much last season, but it’s known that Arteta has been eager to keep him at Arsenal this summer.

Due to a groin injury, Smith Rowe was limited to just 14 appearances in the 2022–2023 season. In the Premier League, he started just three games the previous season. He has played 508 minutes in the Premier League overall during the past two seasons.

Smith Rowe’s £35 million transfer to Fulham would significantly increase Arsenal’s Profit and Sustainability margins because academy player sales are recorded in the team’s financial records as pure profit.
