Galatasaray Eyeing Up Barcelona’s Shot-stopper As Alternative to Ederson

Turkish giant, Galatasaray S.K. have earmarked Barcelona’s Inaki Pena as alternative to Ederson.

Barcelona are focused on outgoing of fringe players in bid to generate funds to return back to La Liga’s 1:1 salary rule so that they can register new signings before the season begins and as such, the Catalan giant have put Inaki Pena and others on the summer clear-out list.

Serie A club Como have reportedly shown interest in signing goalkeeper Iñaki Peña as they look to strengthen competition for their starting spot. However, they may now face stiff competition from Galatasaray as per Sempre Barca.



The Turkish champions are exploring alternative options to Manchester City’s Ederson and have identified Pena as a viable target. Galatasaray are said to be preparing an initial bid in the region of €8 to 10 million, an offer that could be enough to persuade Barcelona to sell, especially with the 26-year-old entering the final year of his contract.

Barcelona are reportedly looking to include both a buy-back clause and a future sell-on percentage in any deal involving Iñaki Peña, ensuring they retain a degree of control over his future.

However, the club will not approve his departure until one of two conditions is met: the official registration of either Eric García or Wojciech Szczęsny in La Liga.

For Galatasaray, Pena is not simply a backup plan should their pursuit of Ederson fall through, he is seen as a strategic long-term investment,
