Game On! Saussolo Hold Napoli As The Two Milan Clubs Take Advantage

The Serie A took a twist as Sassuolo dramatically came back from a 2-0 deficit to draw league leaders, Napoli after Inter Milan and AC Milan both cruised to victory reducing the points margin to a point each between the top three.

Despite the series of changes made to the regular starting XI with Danilo D’Ambrosio and Roberto Gagliardini both starting and Dzeko on the bench, Inter took a deserving lead in the 36th minute when Danilo D’Ambrosio’s pass was flicked on by Lautaro straight into the path of Gagliardini who hit a first-time effort into the corner.

With unrelenting effort and a couple of saves from Genoa defense, Messias added the second before halftime planting a header into the far top corner.
To crown what was a smooth ride for Pioli’s men, Junior Messias made it 3-0 on the night with an assist from Ibrahim Diaz in the 79th minute.
The weekend holds a big tie for Inter Milan who travel to the capital to play wounded Roma at the Stadio Olimpico with AC Milan hosting Salernitana at the San Siro on Saturday.

Matchday 15 wrapped up with a tongue wagging and nervy ending for Napoli after Sassuolo almost defeated the visitors despite going two goals down.
The first 45 minutes was largely dominated by high flying Napoli with the 4-0 over Lazio at the weekend being more than a confidence boost. Napoli however needed to wait till the second half.
Dries Mertens forced an error with his high press and Fabian Ruiz drilled between the legs of Vlad Chiriches into the near bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Fabian Ruiz benefited from the error from Saussolo’s defense to give the Partenopei the lead before man of the moment Dries Mertens doubled the lead on the stroke of the hour.
Gianluca Scamacca took Sassuolo back into the game with a stunning strike from 12 yard after an injury to Fabian Ruiz which later extended to Koulibaly and Insigne.
Sassuolo made it 2-2 in the 89th minute when Berardi’s free kick was whipped into the box for a towering Gian Marco Ferrari header.
Gregoire Defrel thought he had stolen the win but the VAR came to the rescue of Napoli.
