Geyse, Bronze Open Up on Reasons For Joining FC Barcelona

Newly acquisitions of FC Barcelona Femeni, Geyse Ferreira, and Lucy Bronze have spoken on the reasons why they joined the Spanish Champions.

Geyse joined FC Barcelona from fellow Spanish Primera Iberdrola side, Madrid CFF, and signed a deal that will keep her with the Catalan side till 2024.
“I can say that it is a dream come true. Any footballer would want to play for Barça. I worked hard to be here, nothing happens by chance”. Says Geyse via Sphera Sports.
“When my agent told me about Barcelona I didn’t have to think too much, it was a quick and easy decision, my family and I had no doubts. There were other interesting proposals, but this one I couldn’t turn down.
“The team’s play is impressive. It is a huge challenge. I love it because it is a very offensive style. I also dream of the possibility of winning titles, I want to win everything with Barcelona.”

Geyse finished joint top goal scorer in the 2021/2022 Spanish Primera Iberdrola season alongside FC Barcelona’s Asisat Oshoala, who she will play with come next season.
“Like every big team, I have always enjoyed playing against Barça. I’m happy to have been joint top scorer with Oshoala and that I’m going to be her teammate next season. I’m here to help the team achieve its targets”. She concluded.

Lucy Bronze who recently joined FC Barcelona Femeni also spoke about her signing: “It was pretty much done the week after the end of the season, I just had to find the time to sort it all out. It was hard keeping my mouth shut because it was obviously so exciting.”

Lucy Bronze joined FC Barcelona from Barclays English FA Women’s Super League (WSL) side, Manchester City, and penned a two-year deal with the former European Champions.

Nuria Rábano, Lucy Bronze, and Geyse Ferreira joined FC Barcelona Femeni ahead of the 2022/2023 season and the Spanish side is expected to make more signings after the departure of Jennifer Hermoso who joined Pachuca this week.
