The Miners had a tough task ahead of them as they made the away trip but got the job done despite the odds.

Bechem United got off to a flyer in the competition following a 4-0 victory over Medeama SC at home. Goals from Avornyo and Twene ensured a comprehensive victory for the Hunters.

Medeama will be disappointed with the result as they hoped to get an away result.

Emmanuel Avornyo opened the scoring for the hosts in the 24th minute with a well-taken goal. Francis Twene doubled the advantage for the home team in the 37th minute.

Medeama got a lifeline in the 45th minute after Abdul Karim received a red card. However, Baba Musah also got a red in the same minute, leaving both teams with 10 men each.

In the 70th minute, Avornyo grabbed his brace, making it 3-0. Augustine Okrah made it four in the 92nd minute. The comprehensive win place Bechem on top of the log whilst Medeama are bottom.

A late penalty kick converted by David Abagna has seen Real Tamale United securing a 1-1 draw in the team’s first game in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The team from Accra on Sunday played as a guest to RTU in the first match of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

Later in the second half, RTU fought hard and managed to score late through a penalty converted by talisman David Abagna to force the match to earn in a draw.
