Following the snub from Alphonso Davies who decided to commit to a new deal with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid have since shifted their attention to getting a right back but another opportunity to strengthen their left back position looks not to be far fetched. Former starlet Miguel Gutierrez who is currently plying his trade with Girona has set his sights on a return to the club in the summer.

Miguel Gutierrez has solidified his position as a crucial starter under manager Míchel Sanchez and his consistently impressive performances have ignited a flurry of transfer speculation. Despite the numerous rumors circulating, his agent has confirmed that no transfer agreement has been finalized, not even with Real Madrid, his former club. This statement aims to quell the immediate concerns regarding a potential imminent departure.

However, Daniel Méndez, Gutierrez’s agent, has also cautioned that a transfer remains a possibility. He emphasized that “it can happen” due to a clause stipulated within Gutierrez’s contract (a €9m buyback option for Los Blancos this summer and a 50% sell-on fee) which would allow for a transfer if certain conditions are met.
Furthermore, Méndez acknowledged the player’s exceptional form, stating that “the footballer is delivering an optimal level and performance.” This combination of contractual clauses and on-field excellence has placed Gutierrez in a position where a move away, while not guaranteed is certainly within the realm of possibility to Real Madrid.
The player has his sights on a potential return to Bernabeu but that hinges heavily on Real Madrid as they look to strengthen key areas especially defensively in the summer.
