It might have been chaotic in the past few weeks for former Serie A champions, Inter Milan in the summer transfer window, but with few weeks to the start of the 2025-26 season, it’s all coming together for the club as they opened their pre-season training camp ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Following the controversy that erupted after their FIFA Club World Cup exit in the round of 16, it was thought that Calhanoglu would be leaving the club because of the bad blood between him and his captain, Lautaro Martinez and the persistent reports linking him with a move to the Turkish league.

Instead, it seems like everything is all settled between the pair and the other players ahead of their pre-season camp that opened today. Calhanoglu’s agent shut down the speculation about his future, revealing there were ‘no offers’ from Galatasaray or Fenerbahce.

The agent, Gordon Stipic-Wipfler made clear that all the rumors were just media talk, with no genuine basis for a transfer behind any of them. “I can say that no talks have been held regarding Hakan’s transfer with the clubs mentioned and the rumours that emerged,” he told TRT Spor.

“We have not held talks with Fenerbahce. The rumours have no basis. Hakan Calhanoglu and I have not met with Galatasaray either. Hakan will play for Inter this season. “He is happy at Inter. There will be talks after the vacation, we will deal with the situation professionally.”

Calhanoglu was sat next to his representative during this interview, but chose not to speak himself. The constant stream of reports from Turkish media suggesting that Calhanoglu was desperate to join Galatasaray prompted a firestorm back in the Inter camp, culminating in an angry rant from Lautaro.

Now his agent has clarified that while there is undoubted fondness for the idea of coming to Galatasaray, it was never more than an idle daydream. “Hakan is of Turkish origin, so naturally we all want to represent the teams we supported since childhood. I cannot disguise that Calhanoglu has great childhood fondness for Galatasaray.“

Also, like Fenerbahce, Galatasaray is a well-known, top-tier team in Europe. However, there have not been any offers. According to my information, Galatasaray have other plans.” He further added and Calhanoglu himself has now spoken about his future at the club.

The former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen shared how he plans to greet Lautaro Martinez when they reunite in an interview with FCInterNews where he admitted he will remain at San Siro next season. Despite a failed move, the 31-year-old returns to Italy facing an uphill battle to prove his loyalty.

Indeed, the club didn’t like his behavior during intense speculation linking him with a switch to Istanbul. Despite the words from Lautaro’s, Calhanoglu believes he can return to his captain’s good graces. “Am I staying? Yes, yes, we’ll talk when the time comes,” Calhanoglu stated upon landing in Milan.

“My vacation wasn’t easy because of all the speculation, but we were always in contact with Inter. During the World Cup, injured players left, I trained and came back in the best condition.“I’m happy to be back, now I want to start working.” Then, he addressed the rumors.

Asked whether everything will be okay moving forward, Calhanoglu replied: “Like every year. This time, a bit more, but I didn’t want to say anything because I wanted our fans to see that I would come back here. Talking all the time isn’t right.” Moreover, he confirmed he is happy to be back.

“Of course, I’m an Inter player and I want to continue here. “We’ll see what happens. My goal is to be here and win trophies.” Finally, he insists there’s no issue between him and Lautaro. “I’ve already talked, no problem.“We’re professionals, everything is clear.”

“When he returns, we’ll embrace him, he’s on vacation now.“We were mentally overwhelmed, now we’re relaxed.” He further added. As for Lookman, his club, Atalanta is waiting for Inter to match their €50m asking price and have already moved towards Federico Chiesa as his replacement.

The Italian winger has not been included in the Liverpool squad for a pre-season tour of East Asia and La Dea are preparing to replace Lookman, but will only sell the Nigerian on their condition. Inter is his preferred destination and the Beneamata have already offered €40m, which was rejected.

They’re aware that they’ll have to get closer to €50m to secure the striker’s signature. Meanwhile, sources further confirm Atalanta’s interest in Chiesa, who is likely to move to Bergamo once Lookman leaves. Chiesa scored two goals and provided two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions in his debut Liverpool season.

For Inter, they’re reportedly prepared to increase their offer to €45m, including add-ons and hope that it would be enough to close the deal as Oaktree has reportedly giving the green light for this new offer, who is not expected to be the last signing for the club.
