Hamilton Speaks After Abu Dhabi Race

British driver, Lewis driver has spoken after the last race at Abu Dhabi which saw Max Verstappen win the title in a last race decider following a controversial call by the race Director, Michael Masi which left the driver disillusioned.

The seven-time championship winner was present at his team’s car unveiling for the new
season on Friday and spoke of all that happened and his readiness for the season that kicks off by 20th March.
“I had my family round me, creating great moments,” said Hamilton at the W13 launch. “It eventually got to a point where I felt like I was going to be attacking again coming into another season with Toto [Wolff, Team Principal] and George [Russell, team mate].
“It is exciting watching George come in and bring his energy, I can already feel his energy throughout the team, and I think it is going to be an exciting season. I love doing what I do, and it is such a privilege to work with this large group of people, when you really feel like you are part of a family and a team and you are working towards a common goal, there is no feeling quite like it,” he added.

“We have done eight [championships] – and now we have to move on to the next one.”

Hamilton says it was a difficult period for him.
“I absolutely didn’t watch the race [back],” Hamilton, calm and composed but obviously still hurting from last December, said on Friday. “It was something that I was very clear in mind, the experience.
“And of course it replayed in my mind quite a lot in the coming weeks after the race.
Hamilton admitted: “I think ultimately a sport that I’ve loved my whole life, there was a moment where I lost a little bit of faith within the system.”
