For Inter manager, Simone Inzaghi, he believes that the Argentine World Cup winner can become his second player to set the all-time Serie A goals record after Ciro Immobile at Lazio, but warns Inter ‘can always improve’ after win. “Lautaro is having a remarkable journey, it reminds me of the growth I saw in Ciro Immobile with me at Lazio,” Inzaghi told DAZN in his post match interview.

Lautaro is ready to go for the Serie A goals record, but tells Inter to ‘keep raising the bar every day’. “This win means a lot to us. We are showing real consistency and playing great football against everyone,” Lautaro Martinez told DAZN. “We are working really well together, I am happy, but we must continue like this because it is not over.” He further added.
He becomes only the third foreign player to score 100 goals for Inter after Istvan Nyers and Mauro Icardi. Which was his favourite? “It is difficult to choose, but I’ll say the 100th. When I left home at the age of 15, I didn’t think all this could happen. I owe it all to my family.”

He has now scored at least 20 goals in three consecutive Serie A campaigns and is on track to potentially match the all-time record of 36 in a single season, set by Ciro Immobile and Gonzalo Higuain. “I know that I have to mature and have real margin for improvement. I am also glad at our results this season, but we’ve got nothing firmly in our grasp yet.
“I will go for the record, but the important thing is that Inter must win. I am happy because these goals help Inter to bring points home.” Inter reached the Champions League Final last season, losing only to Manchester City, so is this the strongest team Lautaro has played for at club level? “It is certainly a very consistent Inter. After the Champions League Final, we matured in every way. But we mustn’t stop here, we need to keep raising the bar every day, in every training session, to make it difficult for the coach to choose.” He concluded.
