Despite grabbing the lead after only five minutes, the Blues lost 2-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, eliminating them from the FA Cup’s fourth round.

Jackson, a striker, was forced off the pitch during his team’s victory over West Ham United on Monday due to a hamstring injury, hence he was not included in the squad this weekend.
In the lead-up to Saturday’s loss, Maresca gave an encouraging report on the Senegal international, implying that Jackson would be ready soon. “As I said a few days ago, it’s not a big injury,” Maresca said. He needs a few days rest, but maybe he’ll be available for the next game.
Jackson has started 22 of the Blues’ 24 Premier League games this season and has been a staple in the team.
Chelsea have lost four, drawn three and won just four since Jackson last scored. Maresca’s team is currently fourth in the Premier League with 43 points after 24 games, but they are only three points clear of seventh-place Bournemouth.

Jackson has scored nine goals and provided five assists in the top flight this season, but he has not scored in any competition since the Blues defeated Brentford 2-1 on December 15.
Only Cole Palmer has scored more goals than the striker in the Premier League this season, and only the Englishman has recorded more assists, despite his lacklustre run in front of goal.
Chelsea have occasionally had trouble defeating opponents when Palmer is not playing at his best, and Jackson demonstrated earlier in the season that he can score points under trying conditions.
