Jamie Carragher has suggested that Arsenal give Chelsea and other Premier League opponents a free pass on Matheus Cunha, a £65 million transfer target.

Since joining Molineux from Atletico Madrid in 2023, the Brazil international has flourished, scoring in double figures in both of his Premier League seasons.
With Wolves in 18th place and one point from safety, Cunha, 25, has already scored ten goals in the league this season as the squad fights to stay in the Premier League.
Wolves’ bad performance cost Gary O’Neil his job last month, but under new manager Vitor Pereira, who recently said Cunha was “not for sale,” the team’s performance has not improved. Despite this, a number of teams are still vying for the gifted forward, who has long been admired by Arsenal.
This season, the Gunners have occasionally lacked inventiveness in the closing third, and Cunha would increase Mikel Arteta’s offensive options as Arsenal attempts to overtake Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Chelsea, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest have also expressed interest in the Wolves star, so Arsenal have a lot of competition for Cunha.
The Liverpool legend is unsure of Cunha’s place in Arteta’s team, therefore Carragher thinks it may be a good thing if Arsenal were to pass on the Brazilian.
Carragher said Sky Sports when asked if he would sign Cunha if he were in charge at the Emirates Stadium: ‘He’s a good player but I wouldn’t be paying £65m for him. I’m not sure where he would play for Arsenal.’
