Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United legend, says Danny Welbeck might be the solution for the Ruben Amorim’s goal-shy team.
More Details
Currently ranked 14th in the Premier League, Ruben Amorim’s team is having a dismal season. They only have 33 league goals, with Rasmus Hojlund having just two goals and Joshua Zirkzee, their top scorer, only getting three goals.

Welbeck, a former Manchester United striker, has nearly doubled that total with eight goals this season, the most recent coming in extra time as Brighton defeated Newcastle in the FA Cup.
Additionally, his old teammate Rooney thinks he would still perform at Old Trafford following that thrilling victory. “Danny is a pleasure to play with, and if I’m being totally honest, I would still like to see him here, playing for Manchester United,” he remarked.
“He scored goals throughout his career, had injuries in early part of his career, but seems to have got over them and he’s having a fantastic season.”
Gary Neville has also expressed that Welbeck would be a perfect fit for United’s current system, and Rooney shares this opinion. “He left Manchester United prematurely,” he remarked.

“If you think about Louis van Gaal, his style of play is very precise, now Danny Welbeck wasn’t precise in his game back then, so he (Van Gaal) just let him go. He didn’t fancy him at all.
“But he’s actually perfect for how Manchester United should play. Threatening space in behind, playing off front players. This idea that he’s not good enough for Manchester United is absolutely rubbish.
“He’s good enough to be in a pool of three or four strikers at United. For instance, Liverpool have three, four, five forward players across their forward line. They’re all of differing abilities and different types.”
