Chicharito, also known as Javier Hernandez, said goodbye to LA Galaxy at the end of the 2023 season. In an interview, Herrera expressed his gratitude to Hernandez for their close friendship, which they had developed over their time together on the Mexican National Team.

Hernandez’s decision to leave the LA Galaxy was prompted by a serious injury that prevented him from being extended by the organization, allowing him to become a free agent. Seeing his chance, Herrera contacted his pal and suggested a reunion with the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer.

Herrera revealed that Chicharito delivered good news about his surgical recovery and thanked Herrera during their discussion. Chicharito is a well-known football player from Mexico.

Hernandez hinted that he might make more progress than expected in his recovery, which could allow him to return to full fitness sooner than expected. Despite being a free agent, Chicharito declared that he would be willing to examine any offers.

“He told me that his recovery was going very well, and he believed he might be back sooner than expected. He mentioned he was open to listening to proposals of any kind,” Herrera affirmed.
