And while some players were largely expected to perform at a high level, some players have also managed to surpass expectations and one of such player is German defender, Yann Bisseck.
The 23-year-old was relatively unknown before joining the Nerazzurri last summer, with the club signing him for €7 million from Danish top-flight side Aarhus. The German Initially struggled for playing time, but then took advantage of various injuries in the backline to start collecting minutes.

And he has been generally impressive in his outings, earning the trust Simone Inzaghi along the way. According to the report, Bisseck represents the future of the club, who reportedly have big plans for him, beginning with a new playing role, but that is not all.
The management will reportedly hand him a salary increase even if he doesn’t trigger the automatic clause in his contract. He is one of the lowest earners in the first team with a salary of just below €1 million per year. Although he remains a backup for Benjamin Pavard, the Nerazzurri consider him a pillar for the future.
The Germany U21 starlet has thus far made 18 appearances across all competitions, not enough to trigger the clause in his contract that raises his salary to around €12m per year, but he will definitely get a pay rise, signifying his growing importance to the team.
Consequently, the club is inquiring whether they can still take advantage of the Growth Decree in case of a contract renewal. The decree was still applicable when Biseck arrived in Italy. The defender’s contract with the Nerazzurri expires in the summer of 2028.
This regulation granted Serie A clubs tax cuts on the gross wages of players signed from abroad. However, the Italian government has recently abolished it. And apart from his proposed salary increase, he will also get a new role in the team.
This season, Bisseck has always featured on the right side of the three-man defense. He’s been the main understudy for Pavard. But according to the report, the technical staff are looking to place him as a left centre-back.

In other words, he could become Alessandro Bastoni’s backup. Bisseck is a right-footed defender, but the report notes that he did play on the left side at Aarhus. This season, Bisseck has made 18 appearances across all competitions thus far. He has contributed with two goals and an assist.
