"I Feel Incredibly Comfortable At Newcastle United"

Alexander Isak maintains that there have been no discussions about leaving St. James’ Park, although he claims there are no specific talks about a new contract with Newcastle United.

With 23 goals this season, including the Carabao Cup victory on a historic day for Newcastle against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday, the Sweden international has solidified his status as one of the best strikers in the world.

Mikel Arteta is eager to sign a marquee player at the top, thus Isak is a long-term transfer target for Arsenal. The player, who has scored 58 goals in 100 games since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022, is reportedly being considered by Liverpool for a summer transfer.

Isak is considered essential by Newcastle United, who value him at above £120 million, which may put him beyond of their Premier League competitors’ price range.

With three years remaining on his current Tyneside contract, Isak is reportedly negotiating a new one with the club. “There is a lot of writing outside but no one is talking about anything like that within the club,” Isak said when asked about contract negotiations with the team.

‘I don’t know much, to be honest. From within the club and from our side there are absolutely no discussions. It’s just full focus on playing for me.’

Isak, who is aware that there is increasing interest in his services, reaffirmed how happy he is in the northeast and expressed his desire for the team to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season. The Magpies are now in sixth place, two points behind Chelsea in fourth.

‘There’s not much to say, really’, Isak continued. I’ve commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times.

‘It’s been written how much I love the city and the club, how well I feel there. I’m not thinking about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, but we want to finish strong and reach the Champions League games.

‘There is no reason for me to think about anything else (other than Newcastle). I feel incredibly comfortable at Newcastle. The only focus I have is on playing.’
