The Los Rojiblancos paid about €130 million to sign him from Benfica in 2019 and despite showing some flashes of brilliance, he has failed to justify the huge fee paid for him.
At the start of the transfer window, it was rumored that he was on his way out of the club with the likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester City listed as his next possible destination.
“A departure from Atletico is not on the table. I’m fully focused on Atletico”, Felix said in a recent interview. “I’m calm about the future and I’m aware of what I can do with my potential.”
Felix’s current deal in Madrid runs until 2026 and he will probably spearhead the club’s attack alongside Angel Correa and Antoine Griezmann after the exit of Luis Suarez.
The Los Rojiblancos kick off their 2022/23 season in an away fixture, to their neighbours, Getafe on August 13/14 with pre-season training set to begin in the first week of July.
They will be hoping to do better than the just concluded season where they survived a late scare to clinch a top four placing.

After an astonishing eight years at Ajax, Veltman joined Brighton in 2020. In his two seasons in the Premier League, the 30-year-old has earned high acclaim for his consistency and eye-catching performances.
The Dutchman has just one year left in his contract with the English Premier League side and so in order not to lose him for free next summer, they either offer him a new contract or sell him now for profit.
