Athletic Bilbao have learned the fate of skipper Iñaki Williams after he was subbed off in the first half of the UEFA Champions League clash against Qarabag FK yesterday.

Athletic Club recorded their first UCL victory in the ongoing campaign with a 3-1 comeback victory against Qarabag FK putting them in contention to seal progress to the next around albeit, paying a price for it with the injury to captain Iñaki Williams.

The club have now confirmed the their skipper picked up an adductor injury, one that involves close monitoring from the medical team to get him back in shape for key fixtures.
"The captain was brought off during the first half of Wednesday's Champions League fixture," the club's statement read.
"Iñaki Williams had to be subbed off in the 38th minute of Wednesday's Champions League match against Qarabag FK after suffering an injury to the adductor muscles in his right leg.
"The no.9 will begin his recovery process shortly and his progress will be closely monitored," the statement concluded.
