It wasn’t a happy opening game for the host of the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, India as the team lost its first game 0-8 to the United States of America (USA) on Tuesday.

The Thomas Dennerby tutored side conceded five goals in the first half and racked in three goals after the interval.
Melina Rebimbas in the ninth minute converted Riley Jackson’s assist for the opening goal of the match.
Six minutes later, Riley Once again assisted charlotte Kohler who converted the second goal of the game for the young Americans.
Onyeka Gamero, Melina Rebimbas with her second goal of the game, and Gisele Thompson ensured a 0-5 halftime advantage for the USA.

After the interval, Ella Emri, Taylor Suarez, and Mia Bhuta scored three more goals to put the nail in the host’s coffin.
USA tops Group A after the first round of group games ahead of Brazil.
The team will next face Brazil on October 14 with the winner of the game making it to the quarter-final.
India will next play African debutant, Morocco on the same date.
