Gotham FC followed up their 2023 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Championship victory by signing the most powerful free agency class in NWSL history.

More Details

The team added United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) stars Rose Lavelle, Crystal Dunn, Emily Sonnett, and Tierna Davidson to a roster that already included decorated vets Lynn Williams and Kelley O’Hara.

Five weeks into the season, however, the team fans dubbed USWNT FC have yet to find their footing on the pitch, as new and existing injuries have prevented many from even sharing the field.

Midge Purce has been lost for the year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Rose Lavelle has yet to make her team debut.

Lynn Williams only just got her first start of the season.

Defender Tierna Davidson suffered a non-contact injury in their last game, which may keep her out for a while.

The team currently sits 11th in the NWSL table with four games played (1 win, 1 draw, 2 losses).

Last year, Gotham slipped into the playoffs via goal differential, before going on to win it all as the No. 6 seed.
