Injury Blow For The Gunners Ahead Of PSG Clash As Arteta Speaks On Odegaard’s Dismal Form

In a shocking turn of events, Arteta has indicated that Jurrien Timber might not be available for Arsenal’s epic UCL semi-final matchup against Paris Saint-Germain next week.

The Ligue 1 giants led 1-0 at the halfway point of the match thanks to a goal from Ousmane Dembele, and the Netherlands international was substituted late in Tuesday’s first leg in north London.



Despite leading in the first half, Arsenal lost 2-1 to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday night, and Timber was left out of the starting lineup and MATCHDAY squad.

Arteta announced before of the encounter the former Ajax player was ruled out with a knock. Arteta told reporters after the game that he is unsure if Timber will be available in Paris the following week.

‘Confident? No,’ Arteta told a press conference.

‘At the moment no because he wasn’t able to play here and we play again in four days.’

A late-game incident in which Martin Odegaard seemed to stomp the ground while taking a shot was another topic Arteta was questioned about.

‘I haven’t had a chance yet to speak to the doctor giving me an update on that so I don’t know,’ the Arsenal boss said.

With Jorginho and Riccardo Calafiori still out, Arsenal are already without the likes of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Gabriel Jesus.

Arteta chose to start his main players on Saturday night, with Declan Rice playing 74 minutes. With four minutes left in the game, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli were substituted, and William Saliba and Odegaard played the entire 90 minutes.
