Inter Milan avoid what could’ve been a disastrous evening at the San Siro on Friday against Empoli to maintain their bid for a back to back Scudetto.
The Nerazurri fell 2-goals behind before the half hour mark after Pinamonti (5′) and Asllani (28′) gave Empoli the lead but an own goal from Romanali in the 40th minute and one from Lautaro Martinez endured Inter were level before the break.

Lautaro left off from where he finished the first half in the 2nd when he struck his second of the game in the 64th minute to put Inter ahead for the first time in the game.
Alexis Sanchez’s 90+4 minute goal sealed the win for Inter who are now top of the log 78 points, one ahead of City rival AC Milan who have played a game less.

AC Milan will hope to regain the top spot from Inter Milan on Sunday when they visit Verona.
Eleven years since they last triumph in the league but are in pull position to emerge the winner of the Scudetto this season although they will have to first navigate their way past Verona who are also eyeing an European spot at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium.
