The Italian champions will be competing on four fronts at the resumption of club football but Maldini, who won multiple Champions League titles said the Premier Club competition is their ultimate goal.

“The team is doing pretty well, it’s a preparation phase and we aim to be ready on January 4th to play a lot of close matches – his words -. We will practically repeat the first part of the season that was then interrupted by the World Cup. After a few days of detachment we found ourselves, we began to talk about what our goals should be. We will have to face 4 competitions from Milan and Milan must still aim to win. We know that the Champions League is the most important goal but also the most difficult to achieve, but in the meantime we are doing step by step. It’s true that it will arrive in February but the match with Tottenham will say a lot about what our path in the Champions League can be.”

Milan face Tottenham Hotspur in the second round of the Champions League with the first leg slated for Italy while the return leg holds in London.
