According to reports, Saudi club, Al-Hilal have attempted to lure him away from Inter with a lucrative offer, but the coach is reportedly inclined to reject their approach as he hopes to extend his stay at San Siro after rejecting the overtures of EPL club last summer.

Recent reports suggested that the Saudi giants had taken the first steps to convince the 49-year-old to move to the Gulf, as the former Lazio manager had been identified as their top candidate to replace Jorge Jesus, tempting him with a huge salary.

With a reported annual salary of €20m on the table, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Al-Hilal president Saad Bin Nafel was confident of being close to persuading Inzaghi to leave Inter at the end of the season, with the coach’s representative set to travel to Riyadh in the coming days to discuss the proposal.

However, the latest updates from Gianluca Di Marzio claim that the Nerazzurri boss has no intention of accepting the offer, as he is fully focused on the season’s finale and hopes to stay beyond this year and there is another reason why he has refused to listen to their offer.

Inzaghi does not want any distractions to interfere with his side’s preparations for the final Serie A match and, especially, the Champions League final. For this reason, he has also postponed discussions with the club about a potential contract extension until after the season ends.

Meanwhile, the club is also looking at a number of targets to strengthen their team, but it appears that they won’t be able to get their hands on one of their top targets, Nico Paz as recent reports claim that Xabi Alonso has expressed his desire to utilize Argentine talent.

After replacing Carlo Ancelotti, the former Bayer Leverkusen boss wants to bring him back to Real Madrid from Como by exercising the buy-back option included in the 20-year-old’s contract. Nico Paz joined Como in a deal worth a reported €6m in the summer of 2024.

Although, Madrid retain a 50% sell-on clause, and also have options to buy the highly-rated youngster back for a fee of €8m this summer and for €9m in the summer of 2026, but things could happen quicker than imagined as other clubs take note of his talent.

After an impressive breakthrough season under Cesc Fabregas, including six goals and nine league assists for the newly-promoted side, he has attracted plenty of interest, especially from Inter while Como work hard to keep him too, but his future could lie away from Italy.

According to the report from Calciomercato, Alonso has expressed an interest in bringing him back to Madrid as swiftly as possible as he reportedly wants to speak to the player and his entourage with a view of exercising the €8m buy-back clause in his contract.

This will be in time for the start of the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 15. Further details indicate that a meeting between Nico Paz and the representatives from Real Madrid could take place this week and despite the recent statement from Como, they can do next to nothing if Madrid comes calling.

In a related development, reports in Italy claim that Inter’s latest offer of €23m is close to meeting Olympique de Marseille’s demands for Luis Henrique, and that the Nerazzurri are confident that he will be part of the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which starts in mid-June.

Inter have been on the trail of the Brazilian winger for several months, and are close to striking a deal with Marseille, who have recently confirmed that the player will be leaving at the end of the 2024-25 season even though they recently sealed a Champions league spot in the French league.

“We aim to sell Luis Henrique before June 30 for financial reasons and out of respect for our ownership. The Club World Cup radically changed contracts,” Marseille President recently disclosed. He also added that: “Discussions are ongoing with other clubs, not just [Inter].”
