The 27 year old sustained a thigh injury while on international duty with Slovakia but is now back training and is most likely to resume group training this week.
His conditions were evaluated for the friendly game against RC Lens but head coach Simone Inzaghi decided to play safe as he considers the defender a core part of his project.
Skriniar has been the subject of transfer speculation with PSG interested and having their initial bid rejected by Inter.
That could however change over the course of the transfer window following Inter’s failure to sign Gleison Bremer who instead joined eternal rivals Juventus.
A renewal for Skriniar is already in place and Inter are evaluating their options as to whether they should completely take the former Sampdoria man off the market but for economic reasons.

The Italian publication also reports that the duo of Roberto Gagliardini and Robin Gosens should be returning soon.
Both players missed the trip to France through injuries with Gosens struggling with fitness and form since making his switch from Atalanta in the January transfer window.

Gagliardini meanwhile has been one of the top performers of this preseason but saw his run impeded by a slight injury sustained during training.
