Piotr Zielinski will join from Napoli and Mehdi Taremi will join from Porto when their contract expires with their respective clubs at the end of this month. For the Iranian striker, he has now revealed why he made the decision to join Inter on a free transfer, explained why he rejected interest from Saudi Arabia and confirmed his shirt number at his new club.

Upon joining Inter, he’ll sign a two-year contract with an option for a third worth around €3m net per season plus add-ons.He’s expected to compete with Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and and possibly Marko Arnautovic in the Nerazzurri’s attack for next season. After winning the Scudetto, Inter will be playing in the Serie A, the Champions League and the revamped Club World Cup.

Hence, the reason why Simone Inzaghi is asking for a large squad, so we could even see a fifth striker arrive before the transfer window closes. In a recent interview, he spoke with Iranian journalist Hatam Shiralizadeh on many issues relating to his next move, revealing why he picked Inter as his next club. “At Inter, whoever plays must prove to be of the highest level, in this team you must strive to be a top player.

“I had a brief conversation with Inzaghi, and I immediately accepted because he has a good opinion of me. Playing for Inter is exciting.” He opened up about his decision not to pen a new contract with Porto.“I had only one meeting with them to talk about my contract extension, I made my requests and they told me no. This marked the end between me and Porto.

“I consider Portugal my second home, the feelings of the Porto fans had a great impact on my personal life, and I told them that I’ll remain a Porto fan for life.” He was asked about offers from Saudi Arabia, as well as others around Europe. “I never took them into consideration, I was looking for growth opportunities, I wanted to join strong teams.

“Several clubs in Europe expressed interest, but no one sent official offers, only initial contact which didn’t go further because I immediately accepted Inter’s offer. Three or four clubs in England, two or three clubs in Italy and one of the best clubs in Spain contacted me.” He then went further to confirm his shirt number and praised Inter legend Ronaldo. “If the shirt number 99 is free, I’ll choose that. Ronaldo the phenomenon (best in history), he’s my idol.” He further added.

Meanwhile…

After much speculations and reports, Inter midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu has laid to rest the reports that he’s thinking about leaving the club for German side, Bayern Munich. He shared the post on his official Instagram page as reports continue to circulate that’s a move to Germany is imminent, a four year contract that will see him earn around €8m per year.

“In light of recent rumours circulating in the media,” the former Bayer Leverkusen man wrote on his page. “I’d like to take this opportunity to address the situation directly. “Until now I’ve refrained from commenting on these rumours and speculation,” Calhanoglu continues. “As I’m focused on the Turkish national team, who I am captaining at EURO 2024.”

“However, I believe it’s now appropriate to make a clear statement. To avoid further misunderstandings.” “I’m extremely happy at Inter. “The relationship I share with the club and our incredible fans is truly special,” he continues. “Together, we’ve achieved great things. And I’m thrilled to be able to win even more trophies with Inter in the future.”

“Once again: Right now I’m focused on bringing joy to the people of my country.” “Thank you for your understanding and support. Forza Inter.” The statement further stated. For former Juventus and AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri, he feels that Inter shouldn’t sell him either. “I wouldn’t allow Calhanoglu to leave.”

“Because if he left, then I’d be looking for a new coach,” he suggested. “Simone Inzaghi wouldn’t take it well. Inter have other players they can sell to raise cash, and for me it’s not the right time to sell him. “They could also get a €70 million offer for someone like Marcus Thuram if they want to make a big profit,” Matri argued.
