The Senegal international had a decent 2024/25 season for Chelsea, scoring 13 goals and providing 6 assists in 37 appearances. However, his standing within the Chelsea squad seemingly diminished after a red card at the Club World Cup against Flamengo and the subsequent arrivals of new strikers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
Following his suspension, Jackson saw limited game time in Chelsea’s knockout matches, only playing 30 minutes across four fixtures. This reduced role at Chelsea appears to have fueled speculation about his future at Stamford Bridge, but despite the initial interest and talks, a formal offer from Manchester United is not anticipated at this time.
Despite Manchester United showing interest in Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and speaking with his agent, a formal offer for the forward is not expected at this time, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
While a transfer isn’t completely ruled out due to United’s respect for Jackson and his name being discussed internally, a move is currently being downplayed. This update comes as Chelsea has reportedly set a high valuation for Jackson, between £80m and £100m.

This price is reportedly influenced by Liverpool’s £79m deal (including add-ons) for Hugo Ekitike, suggesting Chelsea would use that as a benchmark if Jackson were to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
With the recent completion of Bryan Mbeumo’s £65 million (plus £6 million in add-ons) transfer from Brentford on Monday night, Manchester United is now expected to intensify its pursuit of a new central striker.
The 25-year-old Cameroon international has signed a five-year contract with the club, becoming manager Amorim’s third summer signing. Previously, United acquired Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million earlier last month, and Diego Leon joined from Cerro Porteno for £3.3 million plus add-ons.
