Hugo Ekitike is anticipated to start as the main striker for Liverpool. Despite Ekitike’s strong pre-season performance, the Premier League champions still seem interested in acquiring Isak.
Reports indicated Newcastle had decided not to sell Alexander Isak to Liverpool, even after rejecting an initial £110 million bid from the Merseysiders.
However, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe denied knowing about any such block on Saturday, suggesting Isak’s future at the club is still uncertain.
“I think everything is in play. I’ve said many times he is contracted to us. He is our player. The club make the decision on his future.”

Alexander Isak’s reported desire to leave Newcastle for Liverpool has caused a stir among fans, especially after the Toon’s recent 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, marking their fourth defeat in six pre-season matches.
Despite the allure of playing at Anfield, some supporters are concerned about how Isak has handled his potential departure. The 25-year-old hasn’t participated in Newcastle’s pre-season, and with no replacement striker secured yet, his eagerness to leave has put the club in a difficult position.
Newcastle might be partly responsible for the current situation with Isak, as some reports indicate they’ve known about Liverpool’s interest since March, and talkSPORT suggests they haven’t prepared adequately.
