Suarez’s contract with Atletico Madrid expires at the end of this season and it’s been confirmed that he’ll leave the club in June.

Gerrard and Suarez played together for Liverpool, combining to devastating effect and almost leading The Reds to a Premier League title in 2013/14 only for them to stumble against Chelsea.

Gerrard and Coutinho also played together at Liverpool while Suarez and Coutinho were also teammates at some point in Barcelona.

With the club set to challenge for European football in the coming season, the experience that Suarez will bring, should he sign with the club will be immense as he was a proven goal scorer during his hay days.

Suarez joined Atletico Madrid from Barcelona in the summer of 2020 and scored 34 goals in 81 games. He was the key man as they won La Liga in 2020/21 but has struggled with injuries this season.

Real Madrid are prepared to loan out their second choice goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin to gain valuable experience elsewhere before returning back to the club in the future.

Lunin has found it hard to displace Thibaut Courtois in goal but for the few times he has been given opportunity to show himself, he always give a good account.

In the Copa Del Rey against Atletico Madrid and most recently against Cadiz at the weekend, he was magnificent but it is clear that Courtois remains the number one choice, at least for now.
