“It Was Never A Possibility” Italian Club Shuts The Door On Ronaldo’s Signing

It’s an almost foregone conclusion that Cristiano Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United is over after his last interview with Piers Morgan where he appeared to criticize the club and the coach.

Consequently, the Portuguese is expected to leave the Old Trafford either in January or later June as confirmed by Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano recently.
While he won’t be short of suitors, his preference for a team that can compete in the UEFA Champions League has limited his options considerably as most teams can’t afford his wages while others would rather not have him in their squad due to his age.

Recent reports has it that his agent, Jorge Mendes is offering his services to clubs in Italy on a free transfer as Manchester United are said to be exploring the possibility of terminating his contract.
The likes of Roma, Napoli and Inter Milan have been mentioned, but Roma have come out to deny the reports. “One of the things that irritates me about Italy is that they are constantly talking about the transfer market,” Tiago Pinto, Roma sporting director told reporters at the Thinking Football Summit in Portugal.
“The truth is that Cristiano Ronaldo was never a possibility. These rumours had no foundation, but in Italy they talk every day about three different players linked with your club.
“I understand it was natural to link us because Mourinho and I are both Portuguese, and so is Cristiano, but as I said, there was never any substance in it.” He further added.
His chances of joining either Napoli or Inter Milan is next to impossible too as both clubs can’t afford his huge salary, given their current financial state.

Eighteen months after suffering a cardiac arrest at last summer’s European Championships, Christian Eriksen has made a remarkable return to football and is set to lead Denmark to the World Cup in Qatar.
After leaving Inter Milan because of his condition, he made his return to professional football with Brentford earlier in the year and played an inspiring role in guiding the Bees to Premier League safety before establishing himself as a vital part of Erik ten Hag’s side after signing with the Red Devils as a free agent.

Commenting on his return, the assistant coach of Denmark, Morten Wieghorst believes Eriksen is now a better player than he was before his incident. “He is a quality player and in my view he has returned ever better than before the accident and is it great to see. Wieghorst said in a recent interview.
“He brings vision, technical quality, and goals to our team, he is pivotal to our team, a fantastic player. A lot of people said ‘why does he want to go back after what happened’ but he wanted to go back to what he loves doing. When you go through that barrier, it is one of the reasons why he can raise that level and be even stronger.” He further added.
