“It Will Be More Difficult Than In Previous Years”
Written By Onyeka Daniel
The result from the Milan Derby was a confidence shattering one for current Serie A champions, Inter Milan, as they were defeated by their city rivals, AC Milan in their first meeting of the season after winning the six prior encounters between them. And for former Inter striker Jurgen Klinsmann, he is of the opinion that retaining the Scudetto could prove to be a more difficult task than winning it last season for the Nerazzurri.
More Details
They won their 20th Serie A title last season by some huge margin, dominating the league from start to finish as they added a second star to their jersey for this season. Also, that win over their closest rivals, Juventus in February practically sealed it for them as no team could catch up to them.

In the end, Inter sealed the title with five matchss left. They did so with a famous win over AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.Nevertheless, Inter’s new campaign started on a relatively slow note. They only registered 8 points from a possible 15 in the first five rounds. Therefore, Klinsmann warns them of the growing competition for the title.
The 1990 FIFA World Cup winner believes that his former club will have a tougher mission this time around, with others improving their squads. “As an Inter fan, I say that we can aim for another Scudetto,” said the German legend in his interview with TuttoMercatoWeb. “However, this time, it will be more difficult than in previous years.
“Juve have had a good transfer market. Then there is Napoli, as well as AC Milan who are waking up. “This is good for the league, as it has become more interesting.”For his part, the former USMNT coach reveals he remains open to potential managerial gigs, hinting at a possible return to Serie A.
“I’m always open to any new adventure. My path has been fun and also out of the ordinary. I do miss an experience in Italy, so let’s see if the opportunity presents itself.” The 60-year-old represented Inter between 1989 and 1992. He also spent half of the 1997/98 campaign at Sampdoria.

For Inter, they will be returning to action this weekend with an away fixture against Udinese before welcoming Crvena Zvezda to the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium for their second UCL game after their draw against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in their first match of the UCL for the new season.
In a related development, AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez could find himself in hot water as a circulating video suggests he verbally insulted Inter Milan fans during the derby. This fixture often produces a few controversial episodes, and he is usually part of the action. Over the past few years, he and Denzel Dumfries developed one of the most heated player rivalries in Europe.
While the two players didn’t clash heads this time, Hernandez still made it to the headlines with his reproachable behavior. After six derby defeats in a row, the Rossoneri ended their miserable run by beating their arch-rivals by two goals to one on Sunday night, helping their manager retain his position on the bench too.
However, the France international didn’t really celebrate his team’s victory in grace. Instead, he took a swing at his beaten rivals after the match. The French defender had been jeered and whistled throughout the match by the Nerazzurri fans. So after the final whistle he decided to return the favor with some ill-advised words.
According a video posted online, the 26-year-old was shown verbally abusing the Inter fans after the final whistle. The Milan captain on the night appears to be shouting “S*!k me off, You pieces of s*!T” in the direction of the Inter fans.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if the left-back will face the repercussions for his behavior. Milan will certainly hope that the player avoids a suspension, as he remains a key player in Paulo Fonseca’s plans despite a slow start to the season, and he’s probably going to be available for the clash against Lecce on Friday.
