Jacob Shaffelburg: LAFC Bolster Attack With Canadian Ace
On Monday, Los Angeles FC finalized a deal for Canadian forward Jacob Shaffelburg from Nashville SC.

As part of the agreement, Nashville receives $1 million in General Allocation Money (GAM) split equally across the 2026 and 2027 seasons, while also keeping a percentage of any future transfer fees if Shaffelburg is sold.

“Jacob is a versatile, attack-minded player who brings incredible pace and intensity to our group,” said LAFC co-president and general manager John Thorrington.
“He has proven himself at the international level with Canada and enters an important year with big ambitions ahead, hopefully including the World Cup.”
The 26-year-old Shaffelburg has been a staple in Nashville for the last four seasons, recording 11 goals across 82 appearances.

During the 2025 MLS campaign, he contributed four goals and two assists in 23 games. Throughout his professional career with both Toronto FC and Nashville, he has accumulated 18 goals and 28 assists in 168 total matches.
Shaffelburg is set to bolster an already formidable LAFC frontline, featuring stars like Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-Min.
