Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has vehemently claimed that he has no penalty concerns whatsoever about Jadon Sancho, despite him missing a crucial spot kick at the Community Shield.

The Englishman has battled his way back into the starting lineup at Old Trafford and made an appearance in the season opener at Wembley.

After the game had ended 1-1 after ninety minutes, Sancho tried to slot the ball home, but Ederson saved his 12-yard attempt since United was winning.
Sancho has a bad penalty history at Wembley. The former Borussia Dortmund player is not renowned for his 12-yard jump shots, and he hasn’t done so in three years, since Italy defeated England in the 2020 Euro final, forcing Gianluigi Donnarumma to save his attempt.
The United manager would still be more than delighted to give Sancho another chance to score from 12 yards if the occasion arose, even in the face of another trying situation.
Ten Hag said: “He’s a very good penalty taker and I had – and have – no doubts to let him score a penalty. Also in the future, he will take penalties.”

When Sancho and Ten Hag publicly argued on social media at the beginning of the previous season when he was left out of a matchday squad, it appeared as though Sancho’s time in Manchester was finished. This summer, a permanent sale appeared to be in the works as he was loaned to Dortmund; however, he has since been used again in preseason play.
Ten Hag asserts that the two have moved over their issues and are prepared to utilise the England international. He declared: “As we said, we draw the line. Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on.”
