Just six months after his memorable move to Rayo Vallecano, James Rodriguez is set to leave the Spanish side with both parties already in talks on a possible contract termination as per Marca.

Rayo Vallecano’s summer signing of 2024 Copa America Player of the Tournament James Rodriguez generated significant excitement among fans. However, the former Real Madrid star failed to live up to expectations during his brief stint at the club.

Italian football expert, Fabrizio Romano revealed that he’s already a free agent with his contract already terminated.

Rodriguez struggled to impress manager Inigo Perez, with midfielders Oscar Trejo and Isi Palazon consistently favored in the starting lineup. According to reports in Marca, Rayo and Rodriguez have mutually agreed to terminate his contract. To facilitate the separation, Rodriguez reportedly waived the “promotional part” of his contract, estimated to be around €1.2 million.
