Jayde Riviere: Canada Olympic Gold Medalist Extends United Deal

Jayde Riviere has signed a new contract with Manchester United, extending her stay with the club until June 2028, with an option of an additional year.

The Canadian full-back has made 32 appearances for United since joining the club in 2023, and she has been capped 47 times for Canada at the age of just 23.

Jayde Riviere said on the Manchester United website: “I feel the honor of being a Manchester United player every time I step on the pitch, so I’m thrilled that this journey is going to continue.

“Winning the FA Cup last season gave us all a taste of success and I’ll continue to give everything I have to achieve more moments like that for our fans.”
Matt Johnson, interim head of women’s football, said: “Jayde is a talented young player who is ambitious and determined with the potential to be world-class.



“She has already achieved a lot at a relatively young age, but we know there is more to come, and we are delighted that she will continue her development at Manchester United.”

Riviere won the Tokyo 2020 Olympics gold medal with Canada in 2021.

Before playing for Canada at senior level, she represented her country at U-15, U-17, and U-20 categories.

The 23-year-old played as a youth for West Rouge SC, Pickering SC, Markham SC, and Vancouver Whitecaps REX.

She also played for Michigan Wolverines and AFC Ann Arbor before joining Manchester United women in 2023.
