João Cancelo Passes Barcelona Medical Ahead of Official Unveiling
Portuguese defender João Cancelo has passed medical tests following his move from Al-Hilal on a season long loan deal with his official unveiling set to take place later today.

Talks between Barcelona and João Cancelo progressed swiftly with the player’s strong desire to return to Catalonia proving decisive.
Although Al Hilal had initially reached an agreement with Inter Milan, the Saudi club ultimately accepted Barcelona’s proposal, clearing the way for the move.
Barcelona will complete the deal using the salary cap space freed up by Andreas Christensen’s injury. Under La Liga regulations, clubs affected by a long-term injury are permitted to use up to 80 percent of the injured player’s salary allocation to register a replacement.
In Barcelona’s case, this amounts to approximately €5 million which will cover around two-thirds of Cancelo’s €7.5 million salary for the remainder of the season.
The signing ceremony is planned for Tuesday at 1:00pm at the offices of FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta. From 1:30pm, Cancelo will be presented to the media at the Sala Comercial.
