The Portuguese tactician was speaking to the press ahead of his team’s next league game at home to Al Feiha when he confirmed the news.
Nawaf Al Aqidi will become the undisputed starter for the Nasrawi, relegating Brazilian shot-stopper Bento Krepski to the bench.
“When the limit of 8 foreigners applies (championship), Nawaf Al Aqidi will be our starter, but when it no longer applies (AFC 2), I will choose Bento.” Said the veteran manager.
This decision follows another horror show by the Brazilian in the disappointing defeat to Al Ittihad on Tuesday.
