The coach has picked his first choice goalkeeper for the team in subsequent matches.

More Details

Following the recent defeat to Al Ittihad in the round 16 of the King’s Cup, coach Jorge Jesus has confirmed a shake up in the team’s goalkeeping department.

The Portuguese tactician was speaking to the press ahead of his team’s next league game at home to Al Feiha when he confirmed the news.

Nawaf Al Aqidi will become the undisputed starter for the Nasrawi, relegating Brazilian shot-stopper Bento Krepski to the bench.

“When the limit of 8 foreigners applies (championship), Nawaf Al Aqidi will be our starter, but when it no longer applies (AFC 2), I will choose Bento.” Said the veteran manager.

This decision follows another horror show by the Brazilian in the disappointing defeat to Al Ittihad on Tuesday.

Bento has come under scrutiny for his inconsistent and unreliable performances between the sticks since his move from Brazil last summer.

He temporarily lost his place to Nawaf Al Aqidi before the Saudi Arabian stopper got injured which allowed Bento to regain the starting berth.

With his latest poor showings, the coach has now confirmed that the Green Falcons goalkeeper will become the undisputed starter henceforth.
