Italian striker, Andrea Belotti recently became a free agent after his contract with Italian side, Torino expired and the player is evaluating his options, looking for the best possible destination to continue his career.

Roma, under the guidance of Jose Mourinho have been doing great things in the transfer market, after winning the inaugural Europa Conference League last season. They recently signed Paulo Dybala and have been linked with a move for PSG midfielder, Georginio Wijnaldum, with reports that an agreement is in sight.

The Giallorossi are also on the lookout for a striker to sign and Belotti fits the profile, because he will be coming at no cost in terms of transfer fee. According to Diario AS, Gennaro Gattuso, the coach of Valencia has set his sights on former Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

The 28-year-old is a free agent, but is yet to find a new home. Should he move to Roma, he’s most likely to play second fiddle to English striker, Tammy Abraham, but will surely get some quality playing time due to the tight calendar of this coming season.

But at Valencia, he would become their main striker as he would undoubtedly be an upgrade on Maxi Gomez and Marcos Andre. With 12 international goals and 44 caps for Italy, he has a better track record of scoring goals. The player on his part is said to prefer staying in Italy after leaving Torino, rather than move abroad.

Meanwhile…

Despite the recent signing of Jules Kounde, Barcelona are said to be getting ready to sign another defender with the name of Athletic Bilbao defender, Inigo Martinez coming up. The player’s contract will expire in 2023 and so far, the club have failed to find an agreement for a renewal.

It has become imperative to sell him now rather than lose him for free next summer. But his €80 million release clause is enough to scare off any potential suitor. Barcelona, if they eventually move for the player would offer about half of that clause.

According to Onda Vasca, Inigo Martinez will not meet Athletic’s board of directors to renew his contract. He could be looking for a fresh challenge elsewhere, though there are hints that the club may look to renegotiate.
