Jurgen Klopp High on Real Madrid’s Managerial List

Jurgen Klopp

Real Madrid are set to appoint their third manager in the space of a year with Los Blancos keen on bringing former Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.

More Details

It was a shot and tough spell for Xabi Alonso whose appointment back in the summer brought so much nostalgia and belief to the Santiago faithful’s considering his historic run with Bayer Leverkusen following Carlo Ancelotti’s departure. The mutual exit last week after the Spanish Super Cup forced President Florentino Perez into bringing in former Castilla coach Alvaro Arbeloa as a makeshift option until the end of the season.

Real Madrid know that Arbeloa is only but a short term fix, an experiment with no much expectations hence why they are keen on bringing in the German tactician as per Fichajes who is currently Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull but it remains unknown if he would accept the tempting offer despite slamming the club on several occasions on how poorly it’s operates.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balagué offered a more definitive perspective, insisting that “Real Madrid 100% want him,” while also pointing to the club’s long-standing admiration and previous attempts to lure Klopp to the Bernabéu. Balagué added that club president Florentino Pérez is not a man who “takes no for an answer.”

For now, the strategy at Madrid is to prioritize short-term stability before appointing a permanent head coach in the summer, someone capable of ushering in a new cycle.

In the meantime, the club will continue to assess alternative options should Klopp ultimately decide to turn down the opportunity.
