Just Like De Bruyne, Another Manchester City Star Could Move To The Serie A Soon
Even if the January transfer window is already open and underway with teams already signing players, there has been scarce movement for Italian giants, Juventus both for incomings and outgoing players even as the market is already a week and some days old.
More Details
For the Bianconeri, the issue is not that they don’t want to strengthen their squad but they’re very limited in terms of spending but notwithstanding, they’re still looking at a couple of players, starting with one of their former player, Federico Chiesa, a defender and a midfielder if the opportunity presents itself.

While these are for the 2025-26 season, an opportunity for the 2026-27 season may have also presented itself to the club and due to the nature of the deal, it may require immediate attention just like their current transfer targets as the plan is to beat away the competition by moving early.
Consequently, according to a report from La Stampa, Juve have opened talks with Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva as the Bianconeri eye a possible free transfer at the end of the season by reaching out to the agent of the Portuguese over a possible move in the summer.
This is because the 31-year-old’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of the season and the Old Lady have explored a possible transfer as a free agent and moved quickly, hoping to beat competition from other European clubs but it’s not a guarantee that they will be successful.
According to the report, the player himself has already decided against signing a contract extension with the Citizens, which means he’ll leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season with the aim of seeking for a new adventure elsewhere outside the EPL and probably Europe too.
The MLS and the Saudi Pro League are also a probable destination as they can offer him a salary close or even better than what he currently earns with the EPL club but he might have to take a paycut if his next destination is Turin and for Juve, they will want to make him a statement signing, just like Napoli did with Kevin De Bruyne.
Furthermore, Juventus remain on the market for a central midfielder this month, and West Ham’s Guido Rodriguez is on their radar, even if the club and Luciano Spalletti are in no hurry and want to consider all their options before securing a deal for the Argentine this January.
In a related development, according to a separate report from Gazzetta dello Sport, the Igor Tudor contract termination could pave the way for Luciano Spalletti’s contract extension with the club but it will also depend on how the former Inter Milan and Napoli manager performs this season after replacing Tudor.

According to the report, Tudor gave up €1.5m for the current season and accepted severance pay for 2026-27 and in return, he has agreed to not join any Serie A club this season but he’s free to join a foreign club and at the end of the season, he’s free to move anywhere.
Meanwhile, Juve have now saved €5m thanks to their agreement with the Croatian manager and this move will help Juventus prepare for Spalletti’s contract extension, especially from a financial standpoint even if his future will be decided solely by his performance alone.
The Tuscan tactician has collected consistent results at the Allianz Stadium, but according to Gazzetta, club directors are also happy with how the coach has transformed the team and changed the players’ attitude, as well as his efficient communication.

Spalletti’s contract only runs until the end of the season, but he has recently reiterated that he’s in no hurry to sign a new contract while negotiations between the two parties might not begin in the coming weeks, but Juventus are surely determined to extend his stay beyond the end of the season.
