Juventus Champions Again As Roma Qualify For Champions League

The penultimate day of Serie A Women brought the long-awaited decision: Joe Montemurro’s Juventus are Italian champions.

It is the fifth success in a row for the Bianconeri. Montemurro is also the first foreign coach to win a Serie A championship since the 2000s.
The game at the Juventus training center against Sassuolo ended 3-1. Barbara Bonansea, Cristiana Girelli, and Lisa Boattin scored and Michela Cambiaghi drew back to make it 2-1.

Another important match took place at Rome’s Tre Fontane, in which Alessandro Spugna’s Giallorossi triumphed and celebrated in front of their fans, for the first time in club history, qualification for the next Women’s Champions League.

The final of the Italian Cup is set. After AS Roma’s 2-0 win against FC Empoli (goals by Angelica Soffia in the 25th minute and Elisa Bartoli in the 80th), Juventus Turin also made it into the final with a 5-3 win over AC Milan.
Juventus won the first leg 6-1. The goals for Juve were scored by Andrea Stašková (51′ and 68′), Barbara Bonansea (78′), Arianna Caruso (81′, penalty kick), and Lisa Boattin (87′).
Lindsey Thomas (9th) and Valentina Bergamaschi (49th and 57th) scored for Milan.
The final will take place on May 22 at the Stadio Paolo Mazza in Ferrara.
